pinkydance is a multi-medium, performance company created by Kyle Livsey and comprised of dancers throughout the New York City area. The company works across disciplines in attempts to better explore relationships present and happening. With a sincerity bundled in humor and entertainment, the company pushes questions of agency, connection and chance while keeping play at heart.
POP PINK 2019
pop pink (pp for short) was the first multi-medium, evening length work from pinkydance at The Alchemical Theatre Laboratory in June of 2019. The show presented photography and poetry alongside dance and performance with thoughtful and humorous contemplations on the color pink. Through celebrity scandals and pop culture, pop pink explored lived experiences and ideas of masculinity and femininity as well as sensuality and sexuality. The artists were praised for the light and laughter they brought to the interactive and collaborative performance, challenging the agency of audiences.
We would again like to extend a huge thank you to all those who were able to support this work and thanks to your efforts, we were able to donate $700 to AIDS United and Pride Fund to End Gun Violence.
